Project Schedule
The Envisioning 2020 initiative includes the following key steps, timing and deliverables:
March–April:
Establish the Project Task Force.
Develop the needed project support infrastructure, including a project website and e-newsletter, Facebook page, etc.
Recruit the Community Stakeholders Group.
May:
Gather insights from existing research.
Assemble best practices from peer cities.
Inventory current Hampton Roads-centric marketing efforts.
Conduct a social media sentiment audit.
Hold the first Community Stakeholders Group meeting.
June–September:
Conduct Hampton Roads residents survey — scientific sample.
Engage the public through social media and convenience sample survey.
Conduct Hampton Roads visitors survey.
Conduct surveys among corporate real estate professionals.
Conduct interviews with site selection consultants.
Hold the second Community Stakeholders Group meeting.
October–November:
Arrive at the optimal regional positioning, communications strategy, and naming architecture and/or tagline recommendations.
Hold the third Community Stakeholders Group meeting to share recommendations.
December:
Share the overall research findings and recommendations with the community.
